Amy Ihrig

Amy graduated from the University of Georgia and attended Regent University School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctorate in 2008. Prior to joining McMichael & Gray, P.C., Amy began her legal career as a Public Defender in the Eastern Judicial Circuit of Georgia, where she served for more than a decade, advocating for indigent clients. She then founded a private practice focusing on criminal appeals, adoptions, and probate law, which led to her invitation to serve as the first Staff Attorney/Judicial Clerk for the Chatham County Probate Court. She continues to serve as Judge Pro Tempore for that court. As a Savannah native, Amy joins McMichael & Gray, P.C. in the Savannah office and brings with her a well-established and respected reputation within the legal community. Amy is active in pro bono service, having partnered with Georgia Legal Services and the Chatham Savannah Homeless Authority to create a clinic that assists unhoused members of the Savannah community with vital records needs. Additionally, she serves as Board Secretary for the Safety Valve Project, Inc., a non-profit organization that connects students involved in school disciplinary proceedings with pro bono legal counsel.

Outside of the office, Amy enjoys life with her husband Sean, son Nolan, and dog Alfie. She is an avid Swiftie and also enjoys following women’s professional basketball.

Admissions & Memberships: Amy is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Savannah Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in all Georgia trial courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Georgia, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
